For NCTS, Portmade choose to apply for the full EDIFACT system. This means that Portmade Customs NV sends and receives over 32 possible messages per declaration. By means of this option, they can report on the actual status of the declaration at each moment.

Through the mailboxes of Porthus, Portmade Customs NV sends and receives EDIFACT and XML messages from all parties involved, i.e. customs authorities, terminal operators, vessel-, truck-, barge- and rail operators.

Depending on the clients needs, Portmade Customs NV designs tailor made solutions, to optimize the electronic dialogue and service level.

PLDA (Paperless Customs & Excise) which is operational as from 1/9/2007, is based on full EDIFACT messaging with the Belgian authorities. Sagitta is the Dutch counterpart application.

Portmade Customs is also registered as ship’s agent for sending electronic manifests (CUSCAR) in Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
